little wonders

so i was just listening to Little Wonders by Rob Thomas and couldn't help but reflect on the truth of it.

he says: our lives are made in these small hours,
these little wonders, these twists and turns of fate,
time falls away, but these small hours still remain.

i couldn't help but be appreciative to that song right now. after reading Cold Tangerines by my friend Shauna Niequist
i've been really thirsting for motivation in the everyday. i have all these beautiful opportunities and gifts and i just find myself to weathered to lift a finger to enjoy them. the sad thing really is that it isn't so hard to sit down and read a little bit, or write a few chapters, or get to the gym, go for a walk, make love, clean the house or anything that you find yourself missing out on. it is just such a simple flip of a switch from "not" doing these things to "doing" them. unfortunately the switch is guarded by sniper qualified ninja trained kamikaze monkeys from hell.

i really find it amazing that i can have so many things that i am passionate about that i let sit on a proverbial shelf and gather dust while i just look out the window and watch the seasons change. it all goes by so fast, and all we really have to do is step out onto the tracks and let it run us over. the fun, the freshness, the beauty of talents, treasures and freedom. the freedom that God has given us to touch his hand every single day in every single thing that we do.

i want to. do you?

if so, maybe we can all hold hands together and experience a walk in the world with our father.

YAY, words from Chris!

My friend I would love to hold hands with you. I've been feeling a lot of the same things about the everyday things I'm missing out on. I'm really trying to read more, watch TV less, get out and explore the world around me and just experience everything in general.

By the way, I think my ninja monkey may have rabies.
