guilty pleasure

so without shame i tell you that my guilty pleasure song of the week is:
"sugar we're going down swinging" by Fall Out Boy. in fact, i actually hurt my throat attempting to sing it in the car on my way to work!

speaking of on my way to work, marie has introduced me to the wonderful world of audible. i had wanted to join an audio book club here in town, and then just get a bunch of books and download them to our computer, to be put into my ipod whenever necessary. rie convinced me that that is not honest or ethical, and probably not legal either! she found this place and along with my monthly subscription we also got a free ipod shuffle!

but anyway, the first thing i downloaded was a book called Ender's Game. i found out that it was a novel over 20 years old and had been one of those so called "masterpieces".

in short, ...really really great! especially on audio book. appearantly they took the approach the author had hoped for, with several readers to cover several different characters. i liked it and if you're looking for something to read check it out. you can get it at book stores for around $7 paperback. i bought the book so rie could read it. there is a series that follows it and i am just getting started on those. but with almost 2 hours spent in a car daily, audio books work out quite well, but alot of it depends on the reader of the book.

but anyway, have a great week and if you see elizabeth bremer, be sure to tell her happy birthday!

Ender's Game is EXCELLENT. A book I've read a couple of times - - a while ago, but do remember as being a great read.

I LOVE Ender's game! I had to read it in 9th grade honors English and still own my copy...so if anyone wants to save their $7, they can borrow it from me! (And mine has that very cool looking cover, too!)

Another recommendation for you...from the fantasy genre...a book called The Copper Crown by Patricia Kennealy-Morrison. Intergalactic Celtic-themed futuristic setting...spaceships and druids and a princess naimed Aiobhell...check it out.
