sunshine and road rage

so marie and i were in the jeep (top up but windows off) and we were entering a parking lot of a grocery store. now, as you drive near the front of the store, ya know how there are the stop signs that say, stop for pedestrians? well, there werent any, but there was a car full of people that was attempting to pull out from one of the side isles. they had to lightly hit their brakes (honestly, they were going like 4 mph.) and one of them hangs half way out of the car window and yells

"there's a stop sign there!!!!"
to which i replied
"for pedestrians"
to which he retorted
"you wanna step out of the car?!"

all of this as we drove past each other too!

you wanna step out of the car? is that what this messed up world has been brought to? that some stranger is inviting a fist fight over a sign interpretation?

and like i said, it wasnt like they hit their brakes and bodies were flying, they were just pulling out of a front row spot and attempting to go the opposite direction of us.

it just makes me sick!, i honestly would have been far less troubled by this if they would have laid on the horn, called me an a@*hole and given me the finger. but the fact that someone wants to fight over these things, and doesnt even know what kind of person i might be, really makes me sad.

in happier news, The Mines had a live performance at the DAAC last night and left noone standing. these guys are amazing. be sure to check out their website for cd release info. (should be end of May i believe)

and finally, i have a busy week after easter. i am attending the faith and writing seminar at Calvin College, also rie and i are going to see Dashboard Confessional on the 22nd. should be fun.

and speaking of writing, i was starting to think that my only reasons for going to this writing seminar were to hear two of my favorite authors speak, Ted Dekker, and Donald Miller. and after a friend asked me how my writing was coming (it hasnt been!!) i felt discouraged, so what does our great and faithfull God do to me today? He showers me with a wonderful idea for a story and gives me a completely quiet day at work with which to hammer out some of it. (i never have time to write at work, and yes its ok that i was doing so at work.)

so stay tuned and when i get some details hammered out i will share the plot with you all.

Don't let the "turkeys" get you down. I'm glad that you let their "comment" go - - and you're right, what is this world coming to? They don't know you, you could have been serial killer, or a guy just home from the war with a chip on his shoulder, anyone. It's too bad. But I'm glad you didn't respond to their studpidity. You are a much more mature person than they are. I'm proud of you. AND, how cool about the writing conference coming up!! And, meeting TED DEKKER!!! Oh, and please do let me know about the story idea. I'm looking forward to that. :)
