Manly Tears...I am not ashamed

so as i was surfing the net this morning i was simultaneously watching the tail end of Return Of The King on HBO. what a great movie...and by movie i mean all 9 plus hours of it, the whole thing is one movie in my mind. right after seeing a movie people usually make bold statements about how it was "the greatest movie ever" or "the best movie i've ever seen" but then months later that statement seems rash and inaccurate. while, now that the L.O.T.R. has been out for sometime and i have seen it an unhealthy amount of times, i would like to make a statement.

near the end of the movie there is a scene where King Aragorn is walking towards the hobbits and they bow in honor of the king. he stops them and says
"my friends,.....you bow to no one."
and then the king himself bows in honor of these little halflings, followed by all of the people who are there to celebrate the king.

and here is my statement: this is the greatest scene i have ever watched in a movie....period.

i will not even try to be macho, because despite the former shaved head, the tattoos and the grizzly beard, i am not macho, i'm an emotional grenade just waiting to be set off. and i cry. i cry manly tears, i cry like i am 12 years old and just watched my dog just get put down (sorry for the reference Kate !)

yeah yeah yeah, i know its not in the book and I DONT CARE!!!. it was a wonderful addition and whether you watched these movies spaced out over the three years as they came out or if you spent a weekend getting sucked in to Middle Earth, you know how much weight that gesture and comment by Aragorn means, with all they have been thru. Wow !!! i am drained just from having watched the last 20 minutes. go watch it, fast forward right to that part and see if, even not having watched the rest of the movie with it today, if you dont loose all control emotionally......wow.
